Girls & Youth Football
Come & Try!
With the Women’s AFL Comp not far away, this is a great time to register your interest to play for BHFNC. We are aiming to field 2 teams:
• Junior Team which caters for girls aged between 12 and 15
• Youth Team for girls aged 16 to 19.
We had a fantastic year in 2016 and with new teams being established in our region, this comp will go from strength to strength – don’t miss out on all the fun!
We will be holding 2 Come & Try sessions in February – Monday 6th & Monday 13th afternoons and we would love you to come, try & bring a friend.
More information coming soon including a Special Guest for the Monday 13th session.
Book the dates in your diary – times & venue to be confirmed.
Meet the Coaches
We are absolutely wrapped that we have some fantastic coaches who will be guiding our Girls & Youth team in 2017. Peter LaFontaine coached the 2016 team with great energy and enthusiasm and is back again for 2017. Adding to our coaching capability are Scott Carpenter and Adam Fry who will be working with Peter, Kim Hougue (our Girls Football Coordinator) and the Junior Football Coaching team to really develop the skills of all of our Juniors. In 2017 Peter will be coaching the Youth Girls Team with Scott and Adam coaching the Junior Girls Team.
A big thanks to our Junior Boys coaches for 2017:
U9 Adam McPhee
U10 Angus Christian & TBC
U12 Chris Cornell & Chris Brown
U14 Duncan Cunningham
U16 Scott Middleton
So they can help our Juniors develop and play well, they would love to hear from any parent who would like to be involved as a Team Manager, Coaching Assistant on training night, BBQ cookers extraordinaires etc – the more of us involved, the more fun we all have!
Building on our success in 2016 in creating even greater links between the Juniors and BHFNC, this year the Committee have confirmed the establishment of a Junior Sub-Committee consisting of:
Cam Don – Director of Junior Football
Chris O’Connell – Coaching Coordinator
Susie Robinson – Junior Football Coordinator
We work closely with Kim Hogue who is coordinating the Girls Football teams
We are currently looking for people to join us to work with us on the Junior Sub-Committee. The help we need is with social activities, fundraising and communication so if you would like to help, we would love to hear from you.
