U18’s Football

An update from Coach Sam Schaller

Our 2017 campaign kicked off in late January and from then on each Monday and Wednesday night down at Village Park we have been building towards the start of the season. Our sessions have been very good and being able to use the beach on hot days has also been handy to the group to mix things up and get away from the hard turf on occasions. The boys have been tremendous in their application and commitment so far and with 6 boys trying out for the Falcons squad of 50, our list is in strong shape with everyone putting in strong sessions.

Our boys recently voted in their leaders for the coming season with Lockie Reekie and Zach Walter as co-captains, Lachy Hooper vice-captain and a mix of top age and bottom age rounding out the leadership group with Will Armstrong, Nicky McMahon, Noah Young and Dom Booth. We’re looking forward to getting back up to the footy ground and getting amongst the new surface up there and really ramping things up with practice matches and round 1 just around the corner.

After a very positive season last year where the boys just fell short in a Preliminary Final, I am looking forward to building on the work Andrew Philp has done and getting the boys ready for senior footy and having some fun and success along the way!
