Junior Football Update - 2017 Season is nearly here

Junior Football Update – 2017 Season is nearly here

Wasn’t it fantastic to see a couple of BHFNC Juniors who have played with us since U10s making their 2017 senior football debut on Easter Saturday. The Colts, Reserves and Seniors all had a win which is exciting for our club.

A couple of reminders for Junior parents:

Player Registrations

Over the last couple of weeks we have been looking to confirm team mix and ensure we have the right support structures in place (Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Managers etc). It is extremely hard to do this accurately if players aren’t registered in Sporting Pulse.

Any Player who is not registered will NOT be able to play.

Here is the link: http://barwonheadsfnc.org.au/membership/

BHFNC Club memberships are also important, so please also ensure you complete this as well, but if time is pressing and you need to prioritise – Sporting Pulse registration is essential now.

Jumper Presentations

U9 and U10 teams are having their jumper presentations Easter Monday.

U12 teams will have their jumpers presented prior to the start of their first game.

U14 boys, U15 girls and U16 boys will have their jumper presentation on Wednesday 19th April. Brendan McCartney is our special guest to present the jumpers and then talk to and answer questions from our Juniors.

U9, U10 and U12 (boys and girls) are encourage to attend and hear from Macca.

Team Support

Junior teams are a lot of fun (and a bit of work). The Coaches and Team Managers will guide us through the season, however all teams need additional support throughout the season.

Each week each team needs to provide:

  • Central Umpire
  • Goal Umpire
  • Runner
  • Water Carriers
  • First Aider

For our Home games – we also need canteen / BBQ helpers. So please, let your Team Manager know if you can help out with any of those roles.

Also, if you are in the habit of coming to your daughter’s / son’s training during the week, please feel free to offer to support the Coaches in coordinating / supervising a drill (no expertise required – just energy and positivity).

We are excited with the growth of our Girls Footy program. Currently our girls U12 team is being coached and managed by Cam & Susie (who are also our Junior Football Coordinators). If you would like to transition to be Coach or Manager of girls U12 please talk with Susie.

We are wrapped that we now have two U14 boys teams, however that does mean we need a Match Day Coach & Manager – please talk to Cam if you are interested.

Kids gear

Don’t forget, make sure you have your mouthguards organised. BHFNC Shorts and socks should be available from DeGrandi or Rebel Sport, but please get in contact with Susie if you are having trouble (E: susie@omalleyconsulting.com.au)

BHFNC Communication

This year we are focussing on further building a “one club” approach across all aspects of the BHFNC.

A great source of information for you is our website which we update regularly. We are also on Facebook (@BarwonHeadsFNC), Instagram (Barwon Heads FNC) and Twitter (@BHFNCSeagulls) – please add us to your favourites in your social medium of choice and be part of our communication team.
