Ready….NetSetGO

NetSetGO has kicked off again for winter and we have plenty of enthusiastic little netballers here in Barwon Heads!

NetSetGO is Netball Australia’s only junior entry netball program, aimed at 5-10 year olds. It provides kids with a positive introduction to netball and every Friday night during term 3, we run a 60 minute session down at the BHFNC. Each week we involve the kids in a variety of skill based activIties, games and modified matches.  We have around 60 participants this year with 30 kids in each age group (5-7 & 8-10).

NetSetGO in Barwon Heads is run by parents in our community and this year we have 4 new coaches- Bec Stephens, Jess Dallimore, Krissi Shimmin and Tara Bennett, as well as some awesome junior helpers.   A big thanks to all of these girls who have dedicated their Friday nights to keeping this program running.

NetSetGO introduces kids to the fundamental motor skills necessary for future physical activity and sports participation.  Participants benefit from greater levels of confidence, improved health and fitness and overall well being. It is also a great opportunity for kids and their families to be involved in their local sporting community.

Our emphasis is on FUN and we aim to keep that our focus over the coming weeks!

We are very lucky this year to have brand spanking new netball courts- no more cold little knees falling on loose gravel!

We also continue to run our program alongside the Auskickers- so it’s a hive of activity down at the oval/courts and a great social opportunity for all.
