Time for a surf

Great to have you back Sam Harris

Sam Harris gets a surfboard – thanks BHFNC

2016 wan’t a fantastic time for Sam Harris and his family.

Sam is one of our U18 Colts and his family has close ties with BHFNC. Sisters Lily & Jemima play football and netball with our Juniors, dad Trev helps out coaching U12 Girls and Colts, and mum Ange (as all mum’s do) does a hell of a lot – without an official label / title.

Late last year Sam was required to undergo major brain surgery and there were concerns about when & how he would play football – and potentially even more importantly – surf again.

We are wrapped that after quite a long time on the sidelines (and the beach), Sam is now back playing footy with out U18 team and Geelong College – and surfing.

BHFNC led by Tim Armstrong was very keen to find a way to show our support for Sam and his family, so collections were taken up to raise the funds for a custom made board.

Thanks to our senior players, U18 team and Shannon Grant and the St Kevin’s old boys (they made generous donations when they came down pre-season), enough funds were raised for the new board.

Last week, Senior Coaches Mitch Herbison and Bobby Wallace were proud to join U18 Coach Sam Schaller and the U18 team to present Sam with his new board.

Sam, we hope you have many more surfs and many many more games with the Mighty Seagulls.
