FOOTBALL DEPARTMENT EXCITED ABOUT 2019 FIXTURE

The Barwon Heads Football Department was very excited to see the 2019 fixture released early in December last year and to be drawn in Round 1 away to reigning premiers Modewarre. Football Director Brendan Curry stated “what better challenge to start the season than watch the 2018 premiers unfurl their flag and to then play them on their home ground. This is a great opportunity for our club and we are excited about the challenge.”

Highlights of the 2019 fixture include consecutive home games in Rounds 2 and 3 (Easter Saturday) against perennial power house clubs Torquay and Geelong Amateurs.

In a 10 team competition, every club plays everyone twice and at the end of the day there are no easy games in the ever improving Bellarine Football League and the coaching staff and players are hell bent on playing an exciting and highly competitive brand of football in 2019.

The Worksafe AFL Vic Country Champs will be held on the weekend of May 17/18 when the Bellarine Football League will play the Geelong and District FNL on a day and at a venue still to be decided.

The Bellarine FNL will have a bye on the weekend of July 6/7 and the first week of the finals will be August 24/25 with the Grand Final to be played on Saturday September 14.
