Senior Netball Update

Some terrific results again from the weekend – a couple of disappointments too but such is life! Well done to everyone.

Sonia Panek is still on fire with her Under 13 Div 2 side – they haven’t lost a game to date! A 19 goal win on Saturday just adds to the season this group of champions are enjoying! Branchy’s crew were back on track this week and they beat Queenscliff by 3 – nothing like a tight one to keep everyone on their toes!
They don’t get much tighter than the Under 15 Div 2 team which finished 16 all! Better than a loss! Well done Darcy and girls.
April, Kylie and the Under 15 Div 1 side had a ripper game and there was no way this determined group were going to drop this game after going down by two the first time they met Queenscliff. Great determination!

Colleen’s Under 17 Div 2 had a tight one too which is always good. Well done ladies on your two-goal victory. The 17 Div 1 team had it a bit easier and enjoyed a tidy victory. With a number of teams not fielding Under 17 teams this season, these girls will have a couple of quiet weeks; however, they won’t be able to take the foot off training wise as their next game, after the bye, will be Torquay again. Keep training and hopefully, you will be able to organise some match training in the meantime.

Sue, Cath and the Under 13 Friday night girls had a tight one and unfortunately they went down by 3 goals. Well done to this group of silent achievers – who trip into Geelong every Friday night.
Likewise, our Under 11 teams are really firing and while their results are unofficial – we know that they are going extremely well!

Elise and the Under 19 girls met their match and went down by 7. On the bright side, it was really only the first quarter so there is something to work on.

D Grade (Div 3) didn’t have their best day and suffered a disappointing loss. Div 2 and Div 1 both enjoyed comfortable wins and Premier Division bettered their previous 12 goal victory over Queenscliff to a 37 goal one on Saturday. Come the end of the season, that percentage may well be crucial – so keep up the great work!

Still, Barwon Heads is looking very strong across the board – testament to the hard work from our players and coaches!
