Round 15

Senior Netball Update

It was a pretty good day across the board today!

Both Under 13 teams beat Drysdale – Sonia’s Div 2 girls are dominating and clear leaders at the top of the ladder. These girls have had some amazing wins this season – about 4 or so games when the opposition hasn’t scored. They are still unbeaten – let’s keep it that way!

Branchy’s Div 1 girls are in 4th place and she is very confident about this team’s ability to finish off well and head into finals.

Kylie, who incidentally came out of retirement herself today, had the U15 Div 1 girls sorted and they are also sitting in 1st place. Darcy’s U 15 Div 2’s are also doing pretty well and will play finals if they keep going as they are. They are currently in 4th place.

Our Friday night girls have found themselves in a tough division and they are currently in 7th place. Keep up the good work everyone – and although this team doesn’t play with the bulk of the crew – they are very much part of the club.

In the absence of their coaches, the Under 17 Div 1 girls dropped their bundle a bit today. While they are in 3rd place, the skill in this team should have them right up there in 1st. Believe in yourselves girls – you have a couple of games before finals to work out that you can beat the lot of them! Colleen, as per usual, is quietly plugging away with the Div 2 U17 girls. They are comfortably in 2nd place and will definitely be playing finals – if there is a finals series – Colleen will be there!

Elises’ U19’s are also in 2nd place and they are performing solidly. Great win against Drysie today! Keep it up!

Sandy and the Div 4 crew have had the best season ever and they will be hot favourites going into finals. It will be a tester for them against Ammos next week! Nat and Sammi and the Div 3 girls had a comfortable win today. They are hanging in in 5th place. Hopefully, they will be able to maintain that position. They will go into finals a few players down – but Nat is confident they girls will go well.
Division 2 have settled and everyone is playing well here too. Millie and the girls had a good win against Drysdale today and they also are in 4th place.
Division 1 girls are playing some great netball. I did the shooting stats tonight – and Mon is looking very hot-shottish to me again. Let’s just say she has surpassed her total for last season already and with 3 games to go, who knows what this superstar could end up with! Div 1 is in 3rd place and I’m tipping they will be strong in finals!

Premier Div played an ordinary looking game today – but they did the deed and beat Drysdale – always a good outcome for Liv and Sharon! Premier girls were sitting pretty comfortably in 5th a game ahead of Port but Port’s win over Ocean Grove has put the pressure on now! We will need some solid performances over the next 3 weeks!

Great work everyone – coaches, umpires, primary carers, team managers and committee!

One home game to go – and it would be good to have everyone up at the clubrooms after the Port game in two weeks. Organise yourselves now for that!

Don’t forget the retro night next week at the clubrooms too – get a ticket!

Photo acknowledgement – another great photo from Marcel Berens!

Go Heads!
