Where has the season gone?

Netball Update

Netball Update from Sally Mitchell:

Where has the season gone? Next week is the last of the home and away season – at Torquay. Then we head into a massive finals campaign!

Congratulations to all coaches and players. With one game to go, I think we can confidently say that most of our teams will be there – but we will wait to confirm this after next week.
Needless to say, this is an amazing effort for our little club!

Today was a big day for a number of our teams – none more than Premier Division. It was a must win game – and win they did; by 1 goal. It was an ageing experience for those of us who had to watch and if finals are going to be anything like today’s match, some of us might not make old bones! Phew! Congratulations Liv and girls – you did what you had to do. Torquay will be big next week, but these girls are right there with the best of them – that is how tight Premier Division is!

B Grade had a relatively easy one today and won by 33. Divisions 2 and 3 both had 15 goal wins. It goes without saying that Goughy’s Div 4 girls had another win!

Under 19 won by 11 goals and Under 17 Division 1 had a massive win 51 – 7. 17 Div 2 had a bye today.

Both Under 15 teams had handy wins and Under 13 Division 2 also continued their undefeated reign. Under 13 Div 1 had a loss to the top of the ladder team which, while disappointing, was also a sign that these girls are right up there too. Given that they only lost by 2 goals, get into finals and it will be anyone’s game!

It is really time to tighten up training schedules and ensure that everyone gets to training from this point on. While we are looking like having lots of teams in finals – we also want to go right through and hopefully win a few flags.

Exciting times ahead!

Thanks again to our amazing umpires – and team managers, scorers, primary carers and everyone else who chips in to make the club work!

Go Headers!

U11 Update from Maria Villani

Awesome effort and team work from our U11’s tonight against Torquay. They have finished the 2017 Season undefeated! Thanks to Zoe for filling in tonight for Ara who was ill! So proud of all of them!

Additional U11 comments from Michelle Stewart

Congrats to Maria Villani and the Under 11 div 1 Barwon Heads girls who tonight beat Torquay to finish the season undefeated and on top of the ladder. What an effort by everyone involved. The girls improved so much over the season and showed some great team work. They will end the season with a round robin on Sunday. Go girls and go heads lets all take this into finals with us and finish with more victories
