2020 FIXTURE ANNOUNCED

AFL Barwon have today announced the 2020 fixture for men’s football and netball. Barwon Heads will begin the 2020 season with an away Round 1 game against Portarlington on April 4th. Round 2 will see Barwon Heads play its first home game on Easter Saturday April 11 against Drysdale where our seniors premiership flag will be unfurled as well as Netball premierships from 2019.

Round 3 on April 18 will see Barwon Heads again play at home against Queenscliff and the Grand Final replay will have to wait till Round 9 on Saturday June 6 when we host Torquay. The two “Battle of the Bridge” games against Ocean Grove will be Round 7 May 23 at Ocean Grove and Round 14 July 18 at Barwon Heads.

There will be two bye rounds in 2020 where Barwon Heads will not play – May 16/17 and July 3/4 and the finals will commence on August 22/23 with the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday September 12 (venues to be confirmed)

Football Operations Manager Greg “Killa” Keane stated “the Football Department are very happy with the 2020 fixture with the club’s two major requests of home games at Easter and Queens Birthday weekend being granted. It is exciting that the club will unfurl the flag at Easter hopefully in front of a huge holiday crowd against a big drawing club like Drysdale.”
