AFL BARWON RULES ON PLAYER POINTS

Barwon Heads Football Club have been allocated 40 points for the 2021 season. Importantly AFL Barwon have also made a ruling in relation to the cancelled 2020 season and the impact on player points.

In effect the new ruling stipulates that if a player with multiple points during the 2019 season plays 5 games during (2019) and then plays again in 2021 for the same club, that player will receive a one point ‘Year of Service’ reduction for the 2020 season.

This ruling means that Mitch Phelps, Brad Harvey and Logan Mitchell who were 4 point players in 2019, will be 2 point players in 2021.

Ryan Harvey, Otto Opperman, Damien Horbury, Ben Stephens, Tim Chapman, Mitch Gaunt, Mick Salmon, Chris Varsamakis and Jake Stainsby who were 3 point players in 2019, will be 1 point players in 2021.

Lachlan Slorach and Brock Close who were 2 point players in 2019 will both be 1 point players in 2021.

Players who were recruited to our club for the cancelled 2020 season with multiple points, will unfortunately not qualify for a one point reduction.
