GREAT DAY AT BARWON HEADS AS PRE SEASON ENDS ON A HIGH

Barwon Heads ended its pre season practice games on a high in front of a big crowd at home against WRFL club Spotswood. It was a great day of football with Spotswood proving too strong at Colts level to win an entertaining game by 10 goals. From a Barwon Heads perspective, it was great that we had 23 players as Joel Kearney coached his first game.

At Reserves level, Barwon Heads finished strongly in the final quarter to overrun the Woodsmen by 28 points. Some good players included Bradley BJ Michell, Connor McKinnon, Nic McMahon, Max Gumley, Andy Walsgott, Tom O’Callaghan and Sean O’Leary.

At senior level, it was a very entertaining and high quality game between both clubs. Barwon Heads squandered a lot of opportunities in front of goal but were able to withstand a strong Spotswood surge in the last quarter to win by 6 points.
