RAY LEETHAM APPOINTED COLTS COACH

The Barwon Heads Football Club is pleased to announce that Ray Leetham has been appointed Coach of our Colts team for the 2019 season. Ray and his wife Belinda have been residents of Barwon Heads for the last 12 months and both are retired teachers.

Ray’s extensive coaching background includes coaching in the VAFA Under 19’s at St Kevins, Old Trinity, Caulfield Grammarians and Old Scotch. Ray is an accredited Level 1 Coach and is Co Owner of Razor Sports Camps which run Primary School holiday sporting activities.

The Colts team have been training for the last 3 weeks and I would like to thank Bobby Wallace, Sam Schaller, David Orchard, Shane McLauchlan and James Garvey who have all assisted by taking training during this period. The Colts team will continue to train on Monday nights at Oakdene Oval Estate and Thursday nights at the Barwon Heads Cricket Ground commencing at 5.30pm.

I would also like to acknowledge the great leadership shown by a number of the Colts players (Max Gumley, Nick Sutton and Dom Booth) during pre season, to communicate with their team mates and to establish a Facebook page to keep all players informed about the Colts.

If you know of any players who are interested in playing Colts football for Barwon Heads in 2019, please don’t hesitate to contact the club by email admin@barwonheadsfnc.org.au or ring myself Brendan Curry on 0409 857 308.

Obviously the next step is to get people committed to support the team on match days and if you would like to assist, it would be greatly appreciated.
