COLTS INTO THE BIG DANCE

Barwon Heads Colts stunning late season form has continued with a comprehensive 27 point victory over Geelong Amateurs in the Preliminary Final to qualify to meet hot favourites Ocean Grove in the Grand Final at Torquay next Saturday.

The Colts have now won their last 7 games – the final four home and away games plus 3 finals victories over St Mary’s, Lara and Geelong Amateurs. Barwon Heads last met Ocean Grove in the second last home and away game when we defeated the GRUBBERS in wet and muddy conditions by 10 points.

Husband and wife team Ray and Belinda Leetham have steered the Colts from a very humble beginning at the start of the season with a lack of players and also support staff – special congratulations and thanks to their “support team” which has grown as the season has progressed and everyone looks forward to this momentum continuing in the Grand Final next Saturday.

To the credit of the playing group, they have grown as a disciplined and united team and credit to leaders Dom Booth, Max Gumley, Sam Hazelman and Noah Young. It has been great to see the mature performances of players like Charlie Hurst, Kai Copland,  Koban Treweek, Louis Polwarth, Luke Potiriadis, Mac Stephens, Fergus Wiillett, Flynn Pianta Cook, Devlin Woottan, Oscar Irwin, Max McGregor, Max Witherden, William Owen, Tyler Wright, Patrick Richards, Charlie McEvoy, Patrick Tigani, Joey Harrison and the “Blonde Warrior” Jesse James Raniolo Mad.

Barwon Heads 11.7 (73) defeated Geelong Amateurs 7.4 (46)
