The Barwon Heads Football Club would like to welcome in the New Year with some more exciting news for our sponsors, members and supporters by announcing that Jack Blackburn has joined our club for the 2023 season.
27 year old Jack Blackburn joins Barwon Heads FC from Ballarat Swans FC in the Ballarat Football League where he played 87 senior games between 2015-2022 as a skilful and hard running winger / half forward.
Football Director Brendan Curry stated “it was exciting for our club when Jack contacted me to confirm his desire to sign up and play after training with our group pre Christmas. Dual Premiership player Mitch Phelps introduced Jack to Barwon Heads and he has impressed our coaching staff with his professional attitude and intensity at training. Undoubtedly he brings speed and skill on both sides of his body and is a player who will certainly add to our team.”
Jack Blackburn added “so far Barwon Heads has been fantastic with both players and coaches super welcoming and I can’t wait to restart pre season in a couple of weeks with the boys. Obviously it was a tough decision to leave Ballarat, but I love the lifestyle down this way and with the family here now, I felt it was a great time and opportunity to join Barwon Heads. Everyone around the club is so impressive and it is no surprise to see the success the club has been achieving and I can’t wait to build relationships with everyone.”
